What we check
robots.txt rules
This file tells bots what they may read. We look for rules that block each AI bot.
Home page as each bot
We load your home page with each bot's name. We look for an error or a "prove you are human" page.
llms.txt
A short file that says what your site is about. It is new, and not every AI tool reads it.
noindex
A tag that asks search tools to leave a page out. We check your home page for it.
Sitemap
A list of your pages. It helps bots find all of them.
The bots we check
GPTBot · OpenAI
Collects pages that may be used to train OpenAI's models.
OAI-SearchBot · OpenAI
Finds pages to show and link in ChatGPT search answers.
ChatGPT-User · OpenAI
Opens a page when someone asks ChatGPT to look at it.
ClaudeBot · Anthropic
Collects pages that may be used to train Claude.
PerplexityBot · Perplexity
Finds pages to show and link in Perplexity answers.
Google-Extended · Google
A robots.txt rule only. It tells Google if Gemini may use your pages. It does not change Google Search.
CCBot · Common Crawl
Builds a free, public copy of the web. Many AI teams train on it.
Good to know
- We send each bot's name, but not from the bot's own servers. Some sites check where a visit comes from. They may treat the real bot in a different way.
- Some sites block training bots on purpose. A fail is only a problem if you want that bot in.
- A pass means the door is open. It does not mean an AI will name you.
Does AI name you?
BuyerAsks asks AI the questions your buyers ask. You see if it names you or a rival. The first check is free.
